TJ’s Got Talent Auditions Have Arrived

Posted 04/14/2009 by Jake Hazan

Format for TJ Idol has been altered to accommodate talents of all kinds, and auditions are coming soon.

20090410222543_talent-smallTJ Idol had its run, but Choir Teacher Edwina Hebert is ready to broaden the spectrum and take the annual talent show up a notch.  This year will be the inaugural performance of TJ’s Got Talent, a spin-off of the popular television show America’s Got Talent.  Instead of just glorifying TJ’s finest voices, all types of Spartan talent will be on display due to popular demand from the student body.

Any school appropriate talents will be accepted, and Hebert encourages creativity. “This year we want all kinds of talent to show up for auditions so we can have a lot of variety in this year’s performance,” stated Hebert.

The auditions for TJ’s Got Talent will involve a rigorous three round elimination system; round one will begin Tuesday, April 14 and conclude April 16th.  After eliminations are made, round two will take place on Thursday and Friday, the 23rd and 24th of April.  All auditions will be held in the Choir Room during lunch, and it is as simple as showing up for one of the three first round auditions to try-out.  Unlike last year, students will be able to audition with the exact talent they plan on performing in the finals.

The finalists will then battle it out on Friday May 8th at 7 pm in the auditorium, and that night the TJ’s Got Talent winner will be crowned.  Judges will consist of a combination of TJ staff and outside talent experts.

With a new era dawning, TJ’s Got Talent provides an exciting future ahead for Spartans who wish to exhibit their finest skills.  “We’re excited to see what talents are performed in the auditions, and we hope TJ’s Got Talent is a success for years to come,” said Hebert.
