On Monday, January 14th the Spartans took on Rock Canyon High School and blew them out with a score of 79-53. After the first quarter the boys’ led 30-2. Senior Eric Andres compiled a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Going into league play, the Spartans hoped to use this momentum. On Wednesday, January 16 the boys fell to Denver South 78-76. This was there first league game and it proved to be a good match. Falling behind by 13 at one point, the Spartans rallied around Junior Treyvon Andres and came close to mounting a come back. Andres led all scoring with 24 points and 8 rebounds. “ We played a good game, but made it tough on ourselves as we were down in the fourth quarter,” Stated Junior Joshua Witter. Their record stands at 9-5 and 0-1 in league play. The boys’ next game is Friday, January 18 as they take on Abraham Lincoln High School at 7 p.m. at TJ.
