On Tuesday, February 5th the boys’ hoop squad played Montbello High School in a rematch at home and pulled off the late victory winning 62-58. The Spartans were down late in the fourth quarter but rallied around Junior Treyvon Andres’ 26 points and 11 rebounds to secure the win.
That Friday, February 8th, the Spartans traveled to Denver West High School where they took on the Cowboys in a league matchup. The hoop squad won big with a score of 85-52. Sophomore Josh McNair led scoring with 13 points and Senior Eric Andres grabbed 11 boards and 11 points to earn the double-double. “We played very strong and built up a lot of confidence with the big win at West,” said Junior Joshua Witter. The hoop squad’s record now stands at 13-7 on the season and 4-2 in league. The Spartans’ next game is Tuesday, February 12th against Denver North High School at TJ at 7 p.m.
