Lady Spartans Win Three in a Row

Spartans are finishing up their regular season games and continue to do well against league competitors beating North and Kennedy. 

The Lady Spartans played their last home Game on Tuesday, February 12 against league competitors, North, beating them 49-40, and on Wednesday, February 20th, the Spartans played Kennedy once again, coming out with the “W” 65-37.

The five seniors, Jacqueline Warring, Halen Alemseged, Brealah McGinnis, Brielle Cueva, and Cleora Keopke, started the game to begin Senior Night, coming out with a hot star andt beating the North Vikings 21-15 in the first half.  The Spartans kept the lead for the rest of the game and celebrated at half time for the senior night, as it was their last home game. “It was bitter sweet playing my last game; I really enjoyed this season and I’m going to miss playing with such a great team,” says senior, post, Jacqueline Waring.

On Friday The Thomas Jefferson Spartan girls were teamed up with Kennedy and swept them away.  The girls kept the lead the whole game, after a slow start. “We started off slow but in the end we were playing as well as we have all season,” said Head Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach, Damion Allen.

The ladies last two league games helped improve their overall season record to 10-10 and their league record to 6-2. They play their last regular season game against George Washington High School on Friday, away as a double header at 5:30 p.m.
