On December 10th the Lady Spartans traveled to Rampart ready for a tough game filled with high scores and heavy defense.
The Spartans played tough the first half displaying tight Defense against Rampart ,yet once again they lost composure and let the game slip away from their grasp.
“Rampart had a key player who had the height of 6 foot 2 inches tall and was very dominant on the court. It was hard to defend someone of that size when my girls are a step behind in their help side defense,” said Head Coach Steve Thomas.
The late reactions from the Lady Spartans resulted in numerous fouls, which in turn accounted for many unearned points. Thomas said, “At times we played extremely well, yet we were slow on the transition and we didn’t use effective press defense."
Senior Sabrina Harris dropped 12 buckets, along with Sophomore Carisma Fears who put up 10 points.
“We are looking forward to Freshman Ashley Berry to return next Wednesday, December 17th, and for Junior Emily Cordes to return from knee sugary on Tuesday January 6th," said Thomas.
The Lady Spartans hope they can pull away with a victory on Monday, December 15th against the Golden Demons at 7:00 pm in Golden.
The next home game is in a week against Arvada West, December 19th, so come out and support our Lady Spartans at 7:00 pm.
