The Cinderella story won’t be enough to take down Pittsburgh
On Sunday February 1st just after 4 o’clock Mountain Standard time the grand daddy of them all will take place in Tampa Bay, Florida as the Pittsburgh Steelers lock horns with the Arizona Cardinals to prove who is the best team in the country (okay, the universe). This epic matchup matches up a constant post-season threat in the league and a Cinderella story from the desert.
The question that is stirring in any football lover’s mind is who’s going to take home the Lombardy Trophy. With the highest respect for the Arizona Cardinals, it gives me no happiness to announce that that Steelers will be too much to handle and will be crowned the forty third supper bowl champion.
The Steelers are a juggernaught that you can’t beat, but only hope to contain. The talent that they have across the board is too much for almost every team in the country to handle, including Arizona. The Steelers have a defense that rivals any through the history of the game. During the regular season the Steelers had the overall top defense in the league, leading all in fewest points allowed, fewest yards given up, fewest passing yards given up, and they finished second in fewest rushing yards allowed. The Steel Curtain from Pennsylvania is back and in its prime. With the best defensive player in the league in James Harrison the Steelers will shut down the highflying Cardinal offense.
Arizona had one of the most explosive offenses in the league finishing fourth in points scored, forth in total yards gained, and second in passing yards per game. The Cardinals lacked a force on the ground, finishing dead last in rushing yards per game, which will play against them on Sunday.
With the speed of Pittsburgh’s linebackers anchored by the one-two punch of James Harrison and LaMarr Woodley, who rival all teams with sacks between the two of them, ended the season second only to the Dallas Cowboys’ DeMarcus Ware and Bradle James as the best linebacker combination in the league. Along with the hard-hitting rover Troy Palamalu, the Cardinals won’t have too many opportunities to score with a heavy, one-sided passing offense.
The Arizona Cardinals bring a lot of momentum to the game, but not enough to stop the very good Pittsburgh offense. The Big Ben Roethlisberger passing attack with Santonio Holmes and Hines Ward will complement the balanced rushing attack of Willie Parker and Mewelde Moore, leading the Steelers to victory. With Ward and Holmes both averaging over ten yards per catch and the scrambling ability of Roethlisberger, the Steelers will have only a small degree of difficulty putting points on the board.
The old saying, offense wins games while defense wins championships, will be in full flight. You can’t win a game if you don’t score any points, and when you’re facing the Pittsburgh Steelers, points are hard to come by. So make sure to sit back and watch America’s biggest game with the Steelers coming out on top.
