Sign ups for TJ Tours and Shadowing are now officially open! Please use the SignUp Genius links below to reserve your spot. Days tend to fill up rather quickly, so please plan ahead, as we will not be able to add any additional dates. Once you have signed up using the link(s), you will receive an email with more details about your visit within 3-5 days prior to the date you chose.
Note the following changes for this school year: Tours will now be held on Fridays from 9-10:30am. Shadow days will now be held on Thursdays from 8-11am, with first period beginning at 8:20am.
How do I sign up for the tour? – Families will use the Signup Genius to sign up for a tour.
Can I drop off my child to attend the tour alone or with friends from their school? – Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If friends from the same school want to attend the same tour, that is fine, however they must be accompanied by an adult.
When are the tours? – See the dates listed on the Signup Genius. Tours are on Fridays.
How long is the tour? – Tours will be approximately an hour and a half from 9-10:30 am.
What will be covered on the tour? – You will meet administrators, get information about core classes, electives, sports, clubs, fun events, our CCT program, and more. You will meet students, get a feel for the building and see where important people and spaces are located.
Where do I go for the tour? – Enter the building through the main entrance located off Holly Street. Look for the large yellow TJ Spartan sign. Check in with the front desk. A student or staff member will be there to greet you.
How do I sign my student up to shadow? – Families will use the Signup Genius link to sign up to shadow.
What if I have more than one student who would like to shadow? Please fill out the SignUp Genius for each student in order to successfully reserve their spots. For example, if you have two students, you will sign up twice.
Does my student need to bring any materials? – Students do not need any materials for the day. We recommend that students bring a water bottle.
How do I drop my student off in the morning? – Enter the building through the main entrance located off Holly Street. Look for the large yellow TJ Spartan sign. Check in with the front desk. Your student will receive a name tag. A staff member will be there to meet & greet you.
How can I pick my student up at the end shadowing? – Designate a “pick up” spot outside for your student to meet you at the end of shadowing (11:00 am).
What time does my student need to arrive at TJ? – Students should arrive at TJ by 8:00am so that they can be in the first period class on time. First period begins at 8:20 am.
How long is a shadow day? – Shadowing is from 8:00 am to 11:00 am.
When is shadowing? – See the dates listed on the Signup Genius. Shadowing takes place on Thursdays.
Can my student shadow a friend or family member who currently attends TJ? – Unfortunately no, our TJ shadows have been specifically nominated for this leadership role.
