Jamba Juice is helping TJ out by putting the “fun” in fundraising.
Every Thursday at Thomas Jefferson High School, Jamba Juice will be selling smoothies in the front lobby for just three dollars, to give back to the community and help TJ raise money for things like after prom.
“When you set up the fundraising, it really is a good deal because you get 20% of the profit made,” said Morgan Spedale, the shift manager at Jamba Juice.
“ It’s an easy way to fundraise for any event, you just have to call our store to get the process started.” When it’s a hot day at a school that doesn’t have air conditioning, nothing sounds better than a cold smoothie. Luckily for the students at TJ, they can purchase these cold delights every Thursday or at school functions, such as sporting events.
Jamba Juice employees say they really enjoy coming and making smoothies on special occasion’s. “I really love interacting with the students and knowing we are doing something to give back to the community,” said Spedale, while making smoothies for many thirsty costumers.
The flavors that Jamba Juice provides for their events are the famous Mango-go-go, and the All Fruit Smoothies. The All Fruit smoothies are sold at events because they are just fruit and juice, so dairy allergies won’t be a problem.
“Last year we fundraised for the after prom only, but now we are doing so much more, like coming every Thursday and selling at basketball games,” commented Jamba Juice General Manager, Sandra Villagomez. She said the fundraising really paid off for the after prom because they were able to get a great selection of food and bouncing toys for the event. “We are really trying to find a way to get to the football games to sell because those are the most common,” said Villagomez.
An unexpected event that the generous company showed up for was the Jamaican Jam Luau, hosted at Thomas Jefferson High School on August 27, 2010. At this social occasion the students can dance, and the most popular thing to do is play volleyball. Whether on a volleyball team in the tournament or just watching, having a Jamba Juice is a great way to relax or quench your thirst. The flavor of choice for the Jam was the famous Mango-a–Go- Go and Strawberries Whirl. “It was nice for Jamba Juice to come to the Jam and was a great treat since the gym was getting hot from everyone dancing and playing volleyball,” said Junior Daniela Cardona, who attended the luau.
When attending a basketball game, or just thirsty on another normal Thursday at TJ, don’t forget to grab a smoothie. “I really enjoy getting a smoothie, especially on hot days,” said Junior Raechel Lieker. “It also tastes really good when at a basketball game because the gym gets really hot and the drink cools you down.”
So TJ, when purchasing a smoothie at a special event or just at school, don’t forget to thank Jamba Juice for raising money for your school.
