Dig Pink: 4A Champs

TJ volleyball faces Kennedy on Breast Cancer Awareness Day, and beats Kennedy in all three sets.

On Tuesday, October 9th, the Thomas Jefferson Spartan Volleyball Team played the Kennedy Commanders and beat them 3-0.

The Spartans had a slow start, and went point for point with the Commanders until the middle of the set when they went on a serving run, creating a spread in points. The next two sets were easier for the Spartans, as they started out with leads of five points. Sophomore Defensive Player, Sabrina Kohrt said, “I was really proud of our team for winning 4A League Champs. We’re hoping to stay strong through the DPS District Championship game [on Thursday, October 18th] and beat George Washington for a second time.

After an exciting victory over Kennedy High School, the Spartans win the title of 4A District Champs and get the opportunity to possibly host Regionals. The Spartans are on a 13 game winning streak, which they hope to continue during this week’s games. The Spartans play rivals East High School Tuesday the 16th, and George Washington on Thursday the 18th. If the Spartans beat George Washington, then the 5A District Champion title is theirs, making them 4A and 5A District Champions.
