TJ Theater hosts a fundraiser with Jim ‘N Nick’s to raise money for its Spring musical.
While excitement builds for TJ’s Spring musical Hello Dolly, there are many preparations that go into creating such a large production. Putting on a show of this magnitude comes with a large price tag, and one way Theater is raising money is by hosting a fundraiser with Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q.
For this fundraiser, customers will be able to pre-order a family meal which contains the choice of a pound of smoked pork or chicken, two pint size trimmings, a dozen fresh baked cheese biscuits or six buns, and, of course, barbecue sauce. For $40 this meal will feed about three to four people and money can be paid in cash or a check. Money will be due to Ms. Reed, or Carrie Oss by January 22nd along with the order form, and the food can then be picked up in the TJ front lobby at 5pm on January 26th.
By signing up and participating in this fundraiser, TJ Theater will earn 25% of the money made on each meal. “With this fundraiser, because it’s such a simple thing to do, you’re ordering food and the contribution goes to Theater. I’m hoping we make at least $1,000, if not more,” TJ choir teacher and director Tambyr Reed expressed. With only $6,000 left to raise, this fundraiser will surely help with achieving the overall goal of $20,000 for the musical.
The money earned will go toward many aspects of the performance, from professional musicians and make-up artists to the set design, as well as the rights for the show. “This fundraiser helps get the Theater season kicked off; it helps us get materials for the show, like supplies for the set and food for cast members, so it would be greatly appreciated if everyone could support to make this show the best it can be,” said cast member and Junior Evan Domagala. Overall, this fundraiser is a great chance to help out TJ Theater, while also enjoying some good barbecue.
