The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament is held every year in March and early April. In a 19 day span the tournament covers 13 cities and concludes in San Antonio, TX with the Final Four to determine the 2008 NCAA College Basketball Champion. The brackets came out March 16th and to join in this free competition fill out a bracket with your picks on who is going all the way this year. PRIZES will be awarded to the top three finishers and did I mention it is FREE!!! Join in on the fun today!

Jefferson Journal’s March Madness Bracketology Rules
Key Dates to Remember:
3/16/08: Selection Sunday
3/19/08: Completed Bracket Due @ 2:45p.m.
3/20/08: NCAA First Round Begins
3/22/08: NCAA Second Round Begins
3/27/08: NCAA Regionals Begins
4/5/08: NCAA Final Four Begins
4/ 7/08: NCAA Final Four Championship Game

Rules:
You may print a copy of the bracket from the Jefferson Journal or pick up a blank copy of the bracket from Mr. Spampinato’s room 101.

For the purpose of this competition, no brackets will be accepted after 2:45p.m. March
19, 2008. NO exceptions will be made for any reason. Please complete your bracket and either submit it as a hard copy to Michael Mankoff or Mr. Matt Spampinato or email them to mikemankoff@tjjournal.com or Matt_Spampinato@dpsk12.org as an attachment.

Once a submission is made, IT IS FINAL! Be sure to check that everything is correct before you submit your bracket. Once we receive the bracket it cannot be changed.

Score Sheets will be posted on the Jefferson Journal website at tjjournal.com once each round has been completed.

Scoring:
Round One: 1 point for each correctly selected winner (32 points possible)
Round Two: 2 points for each correctly selected winner (32 points possible)
Round Three: 4 points for each correctly selected winner (32 points possible)
Round Four: 8 points for each correctly selected winner (32 points possible)
Round Five: 16 points for each correctly selected winner (32 points possible)
Round Six: 32 points for selecting the correct National Champion (32 points possible)

Prizes:
1st Place: $25 SOT & School Store Gift Certificate
2nd Place: $10 SOT & School Store Gift Certificate
3rd Place: $5 SOT & School Store Gift Certificate

Eligibility:  All Thomas Jefferson High School students, teachers, administrators, and staff members are eligible to participate (with the exception of Michael Mankoff and Matt Spampinato, who are contest supervisors and are not eligible to participate).
