Billie Eilish recently began her world tour for her new album Hit Me Hard and Soft.
Popular singer-songwriter Billie Eilish, known for her frequently played songs “Ocean Eyes,” “Bad Guy,” and “What Was I Made For?,” is taking the world by storm with her new tour called Hit Me Hard And Soft, named after her most recently released album. Eilish has traveled from Quebec City, Canada, to Glendale, Arizona, so far, and still has numerous more cities to perform in that are both in and out of the United States. Many fans are ecstatic to see this amazing young woman perform live in their hometown, as venues are rapidly selling out of tickets.
Eilish was born to parents Maggie Baird and Patrick O’Connell and raised in Los Angeles, California, alongside her older brother Finneas O’Connell. In 2015 at the young age of 13, Eilish released her first song “Ocean Eyes,” produced by her brother. In 2020 at the age of 18, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Eilish wrote and recorded the title track “No Time to Die” for the James Bond movie “No Time to Die.” Two years later, in 2022, Eilish won an Oscar for Best Original song. At the 2024 Grammy Awards her song “What Was I Made For?” from the “Barbie” movie won song of the year and as of today, Eilish has won nine Grammy Awards. Now at the mere age of 22, Eilish has released three studio albums and multiple singles. She was also most recently featured in the popular song “Guess” on Charli XCX’s new album “Brat.”
Eilish released her album Hit Me Hard and Soft on May 17, 2024. Some of her most popular songs from the album include “Birds of a Feather,” “Wildflower,” Chihiro,” and “Lunch.” Eilish started her tour on September 29, 2024 in Quebec, Quebec City, and the artist is expected to end in Dublin, Ireland, on July 27, 2025. On November 20th of this year, many fans were lucky to see her perform at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. During all of her concerts, Eilish starts off with the popular song “Chihiro,” and from there she will mix in songs from her older albums like “Therefore I Am,” “Bury a Friend,” and more. One special part of her performance is when Eilish asks fans to be silent so that she can recreate her song “When the Party’s Over.” She does this by layering her vocals over each other to create a harmony for the intro. Then, once she is finished with that, the harmony plays on repeat and she begins to sing the lyrics. Another special moment during her concert is when she sings lyrics from her song “TV.” There is one line where Eilish mentions Roe v. Wade and stops the song to have everyone cheer. “It felt like we were all bonded together at that moment,” stated sophomore Harper Skurky-Thomas. For a grand finale, her concert ends with the song “Birds of a Feather.”
From creating a hit song at the age of 13 to winning nine Grammy Awards by the age of 22, Eilish has become a remarkable, renowned music artist that has achieved many great things at such a young age. Fans are happy to see her thriving and gaining recognition for her astonishing talents, and many are eager to see what great achievements she will accomplish next.
