Only four games into the season, the Lady Spartan Soccer Team earned themselves a much deserved win over the South Rebels with a score of 3-0.

After not playing for nearly two weeks due to poor weather conditions and spring break, the girls showed their resiliency at All City Stadium on Tuesday night.

The first half proved to be a rough one for the Rebels as TJ was up by two at halftime.  Goals came from Junior Emily Cordes off a header from an incredible cross by Senior Robin Emerson, and Sophomore Casey Edelmen booted one in, as well.

After the solid first half, TJ hunkered down and turned up the defense, as South was held to just a few shots the rest of the game.  Offense continued as Belen Gomez put one in the net as well, and despite a few defensive slips in the second half, Senior Keeper Mallory Knoll recorded her second shutout of the season.

This win gives the Lady Spartans a record of 2-1-1.  ” We played incredibly well for not being on the field for almost two weeks.  The team is in great shape and we had good touches,” said Senior Defenseman Demi Sullivan.

The girls hope to continue their winning ways tonight, April 2nd against West at All City Stadium at 6:30 pm.
