The Spartan Lady Hoop Squad loses against Wheat Ridge, wins against Kennedy, and loses against East.

On January 24, TJ girls’ basketball took on Wheat Ridge High School, losing with a final score of 73-38. “It was a pretty bad game for us,” said Senior Guard Casey Edelman. “No one got much playing time, and we were also simply taking on a good team.”
The next day, the Spartan lady’s once again fought hard against Kennedy High School, winning 55-24. “We did absolutely awesome with this one,” said Edelman. “We all played really hard, and we won big time. It was an all around good game, there weren’t too many turnovers, and everyone seemed to get a good share of playing time.”
On January 27, the girls battled the East Angels, suffering a tough defeat with a score of 70-31. “They’re just a better team than us,” said Edelman. “There’s nothing you can really do about that. But we did never give up, and we fought hard with what we had.”
The girls’ next game will be against South High School on February 4, and the girls are severely anticipating the results. “We really need to win this one; it’s a big deal, and it’s a big game,” said Junior Ashley Berry.
Edelman also notes the difference in players between the two teams playing on Friday. “We have double the amount of players over South, so we expect a win,” said Edelman. “We just won’t get tired as easily.”
TJ Girls’ Basketball will be playing South on February 4 at 5:30 at South High School.
