The junior class comes together to fundraise for their prom.
The class of 2018 has less than two years until their prom and graduation, and they’re coming together as upperclassmen to fundraise for their senior prom and after prom. TJ teacher sponsors Jon Poole and Matt Santambrogio, along with the Leadership class, are enthusiastic to be involved with the junior class and are excited for the possibilities this challenge offers.
The juniors created class shirts their freshman year, in addition to their powderpuff shirts that were made earlier this year. During their freshmen and sophomore years, the class had fundraising help from multiple activities that TJ hosted, such as running the softball concession stand. “The family aspect of our class really brings us together as an ambitious group of students,” explained Leo Busse, addressing how the junior class is united as one to accomplish their goal.
Another important fundraising opportunity will be a TJ movie night on Wednesday October 26, 2016. Junior Zoya Robbins is excited about this event: “For the movie night, half of the proceeds go towards the junior class’ prom.” This is a night where TJ students will fill the auditorium to watch a movie of the leadership class’ choosing as a way to help fundraise and have good time. Later in the year, an official class shirt will be designed for the juniors, so students should plan on purchasing one of those when they are available.
Despite the fact that the junior class prom is more than a year away, they are getting prepared and are very excited for their special night. The juniors and the TJ community would like to thank both Poole and Santambrogio for all their support in their roles as the class sponsors, and for helping the class of 2018 to reach their goal. Santambrogio explained, “the class sponsors are only as good as the class themselves.” The junior class looks forward to fundraising and having a fantastic year.
