In keeping with tradition, TJ leads up to the Eros dance with a spirit week in order to excite the students and faculty and raise school pride. The Eros dance will be held on Saturday, February 13, in the gymnasium.

Monday will kick off the week with Spotlight Day. This day is meant to help students find the available mates for Eros. If a students are wearing red, they already have a confirmed date. Yellow attire means they might have a date but are still keeping their options open. Lastly, if a pupil is wearing green that means he or she is still available and ready to be asked to Eros.

Following Stoplight Day will be Nerd Day, a zany and fun day where students will be found sporting thick-rimmed glasses, faux freckles and knee high socks with loafers. Teachers are sure to have the whole class focused this day, so don’t forget your pocket protector.

Wednesday will continue the week with Twin Day. This gives students and their BFFs a chance to look as closely alike as they can. Identical clothes, hairstyles and shoes are recommended to fully embrace the theme day.

A time travel trip will inspire the students to show off their 80s outfits on Thursday. The hallways will be full of Rat Pack look-a-likes sporting their side ponies and leg warmers.

Wrapping up Spirit Week will be Friday’s traditional TJ day with a twist. Student Council is encouraging students and their peers to wear brown and gold except during the pep rally. During this time each class should wear their designated colors in order to show some pride for their graduating year. The colors are assigned as following: freshmen – orange, sophomores – yellow, juniors – green, and seniors – purple.

“The strongest part of any high school is the common traditions and sense of belonging that students have,” said Assistant Principal Scott Lessard. “Spirit Week is important in creating those traditions and sense of belonging.”
