Spartans Bounce Back

After a tough loss to Cherry Creek HS, The Spartan Baseball team looked to bounce back into the winners’ circle in the game against South on Tuesday, March 22nd.

The Spartans started the game with on-point pitching by #2 hurler Joe Sedig and began the game with a fury of runs. In the first inning, the Spartans went through the entire hitting lineup, driving in six runs in this frame alone. The Spartans also added on 14 more runs througout the duration of the game and spread the scoring across the lineup with almost every player on the roster recording a run in this game. Joe Sedig’s pitching only allowed three runs in his four IP and relief pitcher Kelly Sinopoli-Martinez came in to close out the game early in the 5th inning due to the mercy rule of winning by more than 10 runs.”It felt good after losing to Creek to play South and reassert the strength in our team,” said Senior Kyle Freeland.

Next the Spartans go head to head with a tough 5A opponent in the Ralston Valley Mustangs. The game is at home on Thursday, March 24th and the opening pitch is set to be thrown at 5:30 p.m. This looks to be a Creek-like caliber game, so make sure to catch the action.
