The wheels fell off the Spartan team’s wagon on Saturday, September 15, in a tough loss to the old-time rival Montbello High School, with a score of 47-0.

After a gutsy performance from the Warriors and a poor offensive display by TJ, the Spartans found themselves on the losing end against Montbello 47-0.
The TJ football squad found itself down against Montbello by seven points in the first quarter, and at a manageable deficit; but events only got worse from there, as TJ was able to get Montbello’s runners behind the line, but the backs would escape and make a good gain. This quickly deflated TJ’s morale and the ensuing score was shown. Alpoirtier Thompson was the top opposing performer from Montbello, with a total of three touchdowns and 329 yards.
The Spartans dropped from the undefeated ranks to 2-1. The next game for the Spartans is arguably the biggest yet, the Homecoming game against Lincoln on Friday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. The Lincoln Lancers bring J.D. Rosales, who has a total of three touchdowns and 291 yards rushing, who is Lincoln’s top performer.
