The Lady Spartans beat both Montbello and West in one week to improve their record to 8-12.

The Lady Spartans continued their league games this week. On Tuesday February 5, the ladies beat Montbello 51-44 at home, and on Friday they got the “W” against West, 52-39 at West.
The Warriors came into this game with a 6-11 record and the Spartans at 6-10. During the game the Warriors came up with a quick lead, 25-23, at the half. But the Spartans came out in the second half and dominated in the paint with a total of 39 rebounds. The player of the game was Sophomore Post Essence Reece, who traded in her inside game for perimeter accuracy, as she went three for three from tres point land, and achieved a double-double for the third time this year with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Talking about the league victory, she said, “I’m really proud of my team; it was a rough game but a win is a win, and I’m taking it.”
The West game contest another league game and onee that helped the Spartans improve their record to 8-12. “This game was a win, and we’ll take it. The Cowboys were ready for us and they competed right along with us,” said Coach Damion Allen, who says that he believes the girls can still do better.
The ladies have only three more games, including North at home, which will also be Senior Night on Tuesday at 5:30.
