The Boys’ Soccer Team manages to pull off two wins: Arvada High School, 3-1, and Northglenn High School, 3-1.

On Wednesday, September 5th and Friday, September 7th the boys’ soccer team came up with two big wins against Arvada High School and Northglenn High School.
Against Arvada, the Spartans found themselves down a goal early in the first half. They were able to pull through with three unanswered goals to finish the game, winning 3-1. Junior George Jighere had a breakaway that tied the game, and Senior Ty Roder scored the other two goals. “We had definite improvement and good possession, but lacked in execution in the final third. On the bright side, we’re close to putting it all together,” said Head Coach Jon Poole.
The win sparked the team’s offense, leading into their next game on Friday the 7th against Northglenn. Although the game started off the same as Wednesday’s game, going down 1-0 early, the boys were able to pull off the victory, winning again 3-1. “The team played great; we were all organized and moved the ball well. I’m looking forward for more wins next week,” said Senior Michael Mahoney. Sophomores Jose Sanchez and Travis Domagala, along with Senior Tyler Moehlman all scored their first goals of the season.
The double victory boosts the confidence of the team. So far their record stands at 2-1, and they are hoping to repeat last year as 4A DPS champions. The next game will be on Tuesday, September 11th at Thomas Jefferson High School at 4:00 p.m. Be sure to congratulate the team and go out and support your fellow Spartans!
