The boys’ baseball team beat down on Denver West but couldn’t pull out the victory against Lakewood.

On Friday, April 12 the Spartans took on the Denver West Cowboys and smashed them with a score of 10-0.
Sophomore Jeffrey Torres went three for three at the plate and and drove in two of the Spartans’ runs. Junior Samuel Reed pitched five innings while not allowing a run. “This win really boosted the team’s confidence for upcoming league games and really showed how dominant our team can be,” stated Torres.
The following day the baseball team took on Lakewood High School. The Tigers got off to a slow start but put up two runs in the fifth inning to secure the victory at 4-1. Junior Cooper Bowermaster went two for three at the plate and drove in the lone run for the Spartans. “We got off to an early lead but couldn’t hold it, and we tried to start the offense but things weren’t going our way today,” said Bowermaster.
The boys’ record stands at 6-5 on the season. The next game will be on Friday, April 19th against the Kennedy Commanders at Kennedy at 4:00 p.m.
