The boys’ baseball team faced defeat in the first round of the playoffs, losing to Delta High School.

On Saturday, May 11th the boys traveled up to Delta, Colorado as the 26th seed in the 4A state playoffs to take on the Delta Panthers, and lost 6-1.
With some miscues and runners left on base the Spartans found themselves down 4-0, but scored a run in the fourth inning. After the Panthers put up two more runs the Spartans couldn’t muster up a comeback.
With the Spartan offense not providing any runs, the boys ended a long season that was seen with many rescheduled or cancelled games due to weather. “We played our hearts out, but couldn’t come through with the offense when we needed to,” states Junior Cooper Bowermaster, who led the Spartans in batting average on the season, and took to the mound against Delta. The boys finished 11-9 on the season and 6-2 in league.With the core of the team coming back, the Spartans look to rejuvenate their lethal offense, while getting behind Junior ace Samuel Reed. Be sure to congratulate your fellow Spartans on a successful season.
