The TJ boys opened up the 2010 season with a tough game against the 5A Chaparral Warriors, and unfortunately for the Spartans they just could not pull out a “W”. Senior southpaw Brennan Henry opened up the game for the Spartans, and was hit hard by the Warriors giving up seven runs in two innings.

Henry was replaced by Senior Michael Michelotti after two innings. Michelotti delivered, allowing zero runs over a three-inning stretch. But it was just too little too late as the Spartan bats struggled against the tough pitching.  TJ’s only run came on a base knock by Junior Austin Hearne. “This was a rough outing, but it’s alright.  This was the first game of the season, and our team’s true identity will come out in the coming weeks,” noted Henry.

The boys get back to work on Saturday March 13, when they take on perennial power Cheery Creek High School.  The game will begin at 11:00 am and will be played at All City Field.
