The mighty Spartans fell on Tuesday night to the North Vikings in a nail bitter 66-64.

The Spartans took the court geared up and ready to go, but North demonstrated very early in the game that they were not just going to roll over. In fact, the Vikings played like the better team from the start, leading by five at the end of the first quarter. The Vikings shot well throughout the game, converting on seven three point field goals. It just seemed that everything fell for the Vikings, and nothing was clicking for the Spartans.
The Vikings got especially hot in the third quarter, when they outscored TJ by seven. At the end of three quarters, the Spartans trailed by a score of 45-42. The Spartans did – however briefly – regain the lead in the fourth quarter before some costly turnovers and clutch free throws by the Vikings sealed the win for North. The final score was North 66, TJ 64.
“This is a tough loss to follow, as I thought we should have won this game,” stated Junior Forward Seborne Harris.
The Spartans were led by Junior Ray Riley who finished with 17 points, Juniors Chris Carter and Billy Sprague were not far behind, finishing with 12 and 11 points respectively.
TJ will look to get back to their winning ways against Kennedy. The game will take place on Tuesday, February 3rd at 7:00 pm at Kennedy.
