Teamwork was the name of the game as DPS swim teams fight for bragging rights.

The Lady Spartan swim team was at it again on Thursday, participating in the annual Denver Public Schools Relay meet at Manual High School. TJ was one of the six Denver teams invited, along with Montbello, South, West, George Washington, and East. The The results of the meet are as follows:
1st – East 492
2nd – GW 430
3rd – TJ 242
4th – South 184
5th – West 172
6th – Montbello 54
This meet, which only features relays, was great practice for the team in their cooperative swimming. events “Everyone did great; every race was a highlight!” said Aimee Witulski, the team’s diving coach. “The girls are swimming hard this season. It is easy to see our morning practices are paying off,” she added. The ladies are known for their strong performance in the relay area of their meets, so this was an excellent opportunity to solidify the team’s strength.
Head coach for the ladies, Cindy Allen, commented on how well the team did. “Everyone really swam well and tried hard. Andrea Shacklock, Chelsea Skubal, Hall Hupperts, Mallory Knoll, Alex Gustafson, Jamie Gray, and Morgan Bertram did notably well,” stated Allen.
The lady’s next meet will be their first home competition, and will feature the Spartans taking on Centaurus High School on December 12th at 4:15.
