Another great week ensued for TJ volleyball as they won all three of their matches.

On Friday, September 14th, the TJ Spartans battled the Green Mountains Rams in a long game that went to four sets. The Spartans and the Rams ping-ponged back and fourth point to point in every set, making it an extremely exciting match to watch and play. Green Mountain came out strong and beat the Spartans 25-23. The Spartans immediately fought back, which led to them ultimately conquering the Rams the next three sets. “We did really well and we came together as a team. I am proud of all three games, but I’m the most proud of our win against Green Mountain because they were 6th in state,” said Freshman Celeste James.

Thursday September 13th the Spartans went up against the Overland Trailblazers, and destroyed the Trailblazers 3-0. The Spartans never let the Trailblazers score more then 10 points in any of the sets. Senior Angela Becker served 17 points straight, giving the Spartans a lead of 22-2. “It was a fun game to play in, and I’m extremely proud we never let them come back. It was heyday for our hitters Celeste James, and Jessica Jackson,” says Becker.

On Tuesday September 11th, the Thomas Jefferson Spartans go up against the Littleton Eagles and dominated the Eagles, winning 3-1. The Spartans let up at one point, losing one set out of the match, but they came back, proved their dominance and won the next three sets straight. The fans were extremely supportive, helping them earn their win against the Eagles.

After winning all three matches of the week, the Thomas Jefferson Spartans added three more wins to their previous record of 3-2, making their new record 6-2. The Spartans have won six straight games and are now looking at an impressive winning record. “It was a great week for us; we stayed strong the whole week, kept our attitudes up, and fought hard even when we were tired. I’m really proud we pulled through and I can’t wait for our homecoming match,” Sabrina Kohrt.
