Thomas Jefferson played East and George in nail-biting matches and the Spartans smashed both teams, each in three definitive sets.

The TJ Spartans played their biggest game of the season against George Patriots on Thursday, October 18th. Everything TJ had worked for led up to this match which determined who won the 4A/5A DPS league title. The Spartans had a rough start, and were behind at the onset, but TJ refused to lose as they came back and won 26-24. George played hard, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Spartans, who proved they possessed winning qualities. TJ had the will to win as they smashed GW the next two sets.

Jessica Jackson played a great game, earning a total of 17 kills. “I was so excited to win 4A/5A Champs. The game was extremely intense but, thankfully, we pulled away with the win. Also, the crowd was really hyped which I think helped contribute to our win. I know our upcoming games are going to be really challenging, which is why I’m looking forward to the rest of the season. I love those close games that go into overtime,” said Jackson.

The remaining five games are crucial to the rest of the Spartan season. The outcome of those matches will place them for regionals, which will make or break their chances for state.

Stay tuned, Spartans, for some more exciting volleyball news! Be sure to come out and cheer the Lady Spartans on to another victory.
