Volleyball continues its winning streak, beating the West Cowboys and the George Washington Patriots.
TJ Volleyball played the GW Patriots and came out on top, winning 3-1. The Spartans started off slow, losing to the Patriots in overtime 28-26, but the ladies played hard the next three sets and finished off the Patriots, winning the last set 25-12! “We had a rough start, but we picked up our intensity and got our momentum goin,g which made it a really fun game,” says Varsity starter Caitlin Rogers.
On September 25th, the Spartans played the Cowboys at Thomas Jefferson and dominated West High School in an easy three sets. TJ fought hard and never let West come back from their major point deficit, beating them 25-4!
As the Spartans continue their winning streak of 10-2, they move their way up to 10th place in state. “Being in the top 10 in state is a huge honor,” said Coach Kathleen Nickless.
The Spartans are excited about their new accomplishment. Senior Angela Becker says, “It is a huge deal to be named top 10 in Colorado. In all four years I’ve played volleyball we’ve never been in the top 10. I am so proud.”
