Wrangling In New Customers

Posted 04/01/2011 by Dani Ruzycki

The first ever Wrangler Retail Store opened last year at Park Meadows Mall.

The Wrangler store is well known for western type clothing; however, not many know that the store has much more than that to offer its customers.

The store opened its doors to the public on September 9, 2010, right next to the Park Meadows Shopping Mall. Before this new store could open, there was a lot of hard work put into it, and General Manager Suzanne (or Suze, as many call her) Garrett-Duquette reflects on the days when the store was in the beginning stage. “This is the first store to ever be built, and it took ten years. It was a labor of love,” said Duquette.
The Wrangler store has been up and running for just a short while, but the owners have already become successful. The key to the store’s success may have to do with the location. “I think the store is in the perfect place,” says Sales Associate Jessica Gardner. “It is very central and not too far from parker, where a lot of ranches are, along the mall.”
The employees at the store come to work with smiles on their faces and say they enjoy their jobs. “I love working here because we are all like a family. I would definitely agree that a fun and welcoming atmosphere is created,” said Sales Associate Sheyna Ruzycki, a TJ alumni.

The clothing provided in the store varies from cowboy boots to fashionable shirts, pants, and accessories. The typical stereotype of Wrangler is just cowboy jeans, but there are many different brands in the store designed for teens. “Wrangler is so much more than what everyone thinks it is. We have a lot of different styles and the Rock 47 brand, which is especially for the junior crowd,” said Ruzycki.

The Rock 47 brand is designed for girls and guys to wear, creating clothes that are cute and bedazzled for the girls. The brand supplies flared, boot cut, and skinny jeans that have studs and rhinestones that catch everyone’s eye. Of course, there is a plethora of shirts that range from the western flannel to the modern day t-shirt. The boots provided at this store are very popular, and come in many different designs. “The Lucchese boots are the most comfortable boots you could ever buy,” said Ruzycki.

To top off the whole look, Wrangler even provides belts and jewelry. The belts, like the jeans, also have studs and fun prints, and the jewelry sold is by a jewelry company, Montana Silver Smith which is very glitzy.

When asked, all the staff members said their experience at Wrangler has been more than enjoyable. “I love working here because it is original and there was endless amounts of freedom when we picked who we wanted to be on the staff. Everyday at this store is different. It is always fun to come to work,” says Garrett-Duquette.

The workers at Wrangler greet every customer with a smile and are more than happy to lend fashion advice. The store is looking for younger shoppers to come in and see what they are all about. “Come in and look at all the different things we have. You will be blown away with the selection. It is inexpensive, awesome, and high quality!” said Garrett-Duquette.

The new Wrangler Store is right across from the Park Meadows Mall and neighbors with The Denver Shoe Warehouse. Monday through Friday, the doors open at ten and they close at nine; Saturday and Sunday, the store opens at eleven o’clock and closes at six.
