Undoubtedly, the most valued chain of services within the new twenty-first century is the ubiquitous Starbucks. Everywhere you look, on every other street corner, in office buildings, they are omnipresent. With almost no trouble what so ever, coffee addicts are guaranteed to find a Starbucks. For one of the newest Starbucks in Denver, it has put itself in the most opportune of locations and has now been dubbed the most visited Starbucks in all of Colorado. For the Starbucks on Hampden and I-25, they have a booming business and absolutely no problem racking in the customers.
Every customer has his or her favorite drinks and snacks. Some even have a daily routine they follow which includes a Starbucks stop. According to a Starbucks spokesman in the Los Angeles Daily News, the average customer visits about six times per month, while the coffee chain’s most loyal customers visit nearly eighteen times per month! For some it’s a nice treat every once and a while, and for others it’s an absolute obsession.
This supreme Starbucks has become one in which many enter, wait, and before they are even at the cash register, the staff will have their drink ready. Manager of Starbucks, Kayla Hertzoa, says there are hundreds of regular customers whom they see on a daily basis. “There are some who come in and get the same thing every single day. Every once and a while they may change it up but for the most part, we can have their drinks ready for them,” states Hertzoa.
Downtown Denver is a traffic hassle Monday through Friday, and the Tech-Center can be maddening, so anything that can be done before making the adventure into either one is a plus. Being located so close to the highway, this Starbucks can make plenty of money off of those who are trying to avoid the confusion or distress of finding a cup of coffee downtown or in the Tech-Center. “This location is absolutely the reason that we are the number one visited Starbucks in Colorado,” said Kayla smiling. “Between the hotel, the highway, and being in the middle of the Tech-Center and Downtown, we see a ton of people every day.” Those people can use the easy drive-through window in the mornings before continuing to work, or they can go inside on their way home and enjoy their refreshment while reading the newspaper or using their wireless Internet.
Like any other business, this coffee shop has its times in the day when it is jam packed with people. “We call them our ‘afternoon rushes’. We see so many people between about two and three in the afternoon, just as people are about to pick up their kids, or already have. We also have a rush between about five and six as people are getting off work and need that afternoon pick-me-up. And of course, there are the long, busy mornings from about seven to ten.” It’s clear that people truly love their coffee and are devoted to their local coffee shop when they looking for a delicious cup of Java.
Many students and staff at Thomas Jefferson find this to be one of the most accessible Starbucks.
Managing a place such as Starbucks has got to be a job that is bundles more fun than other positions. “We have a lot of really great partners,” Hertzoa states. “We get involved with the people with community boards and charity walks. Also, I love working here because the atmosphere is amazing; its fast paced, and I’ve never seen two days play out exactly the same way. It’s always new.”
It’s no wonder this particular Starbucks has become the number one Starbucks in all of Colorado.
