Breckenridge Ski Resort has never looked better with new lodges, new programs, and new features.
Breckenridge Ski Resort is approaching the 2010-2011 winter season like never before. Being a multi-peak mountain, for the past 49 years Breck (Breckenridge) has provided 155 trails on 2,358 acres of terrain and slopes to not only meet the expectations of Colorado skiers, but of riders throughout the world.
Breckenridge is a place that likes to provide people with entertainment on and off the mountain. Whether it is tubing, relaxing at a spa, or learning how to ski and snowboard, there is always something to do. Breck’s Ski & Ride School provides at least nine programs to bring people to a closer experience of the “Breck-way”. This year Breck has added a new dimension to its repertoire called the Peak-to-Peak Challenge. This is a chance for guests to push themselves on the mountain to achieve the goal of conquering 10 black runs on all four of the peaks across the Breck terrain in just one day. It is said that the rider or skier who can achieve this conquest will be given a reward (although specifics have not been announced).
Of the four peaks at Breck, Peak 9 and Peak 8 receive the most attention from tourists and those interested in having a relaxing time at Breckenridge. To help these travelers achieve their goal of having a calming experience, Breck has provided lodges and spas throughout the bases of the 4 peaks, two of them which are new this year. One Ski Hill has been an on-going project for the past couple seasons and it is now ready to be opened to the public on Peak 8. On top of having a beautiful view of the surrounding environment, One Ski Hill offers an aquatics center, bowling alley, game room and movie lounge, that makes it a new standard of high-end real estate.
Paired with One Ski Hill, The Village at Breck is making a grand re-opening this season which will provide guests with amazing accessibility to Peak 9 and the top of Main Street Breckenridge. By being located at the intersection of the base of Peak 9 and Main Street, visitors will be able to reach the main attractions of Breck in an accessible manner. This will be a great contribution along with One Ski Hill, people can now be closer to the ideal spots desired by those visiting.
One of the most exciting things occurring on the slopes of Breck this season is the installation of high-performance park features (big park jumps, down rails, wall rides and even a pill-shaped feature) and a brand spanking new 22 foot (Olympic size) half pipe. By integrating this new addition, Breck is considered to be the very pinnacle of freestyle Snowboarding and Skiing, as countless riders of all skill levels are expected to be coming through Breck’s new and elite park. “As a resident and team rider, I won’t need to travel anywhere else to train anymore. I will only need to travel to compete,” states two-time XGames Gold Medalist, Steve Fisher in his interview on Breck1080.com.
Breckenridge’s team rider and Cherry Creek’s own Skiing prodigy, Bobby Brown, agrees with Fisher’s statement. “Having a 22-foot pipe in Summit County all season will elevate the sport as well as my own progression. It will put Breckenridge miles ahead of any other resort,” said Brown in his interview on Breck1080.com.
Breckenridge.com provides information on the status of the mountain regarding snow fall and events, as well as ticket prices and other offers for the utilities on the mountain. Lift tickets begin at $63 in the early season and will progress as the season does, so for any one interested in visiting Breckenridge, jump on the bandwagon and get ready to experience “Breck Like Never Before!”
