TJ Boys’ Swimming does well at the State competition and finishes off a great season.
On Saturday, May 21st, the Boys’ Swim Team traveled all the way up to Mesa State University in Grand Junction for the State Swimming Competition, doing well and ending the season with a splash.
Of the entire swim team, seven of them went to State, including Juniors Mitch Moore, Frank Hupperts, and Daniel Wakefield, Sophomores Jackson Epstein, Marcus Allen, and Michael Mahoney, and Senior Tim Mahoney. The 200 Freestyle Relay Team, which consisted of Hupperts, Epstein, Mahoney, and Allen, took 18th place, and then took 22nd place in the 400 Freestyle Relay. Individually, Jackson Epstein placed 37th in the 200 Freestyle.
“I thought we all swam pretty well. Tim swam amazing as well as everyone else. Overall, it was a great season, and I’m happy with how we did at State,” said Epstein. Although the year is over, the boys managed a great season, and with all the talent returning for next year, the boys are sure to be successful once again.
