To open the 2012 volleyball season, the TJ Spartans played the Bear Creek Bears, and went point for point with them, but in the end they lost in four sets.

In the first set, Bear Creek gained an early lead of 10-0, but TJ fought back, only losing 20-25. In the second set, TJ gained momentum and won 25-18. In the third set, Bear Creek came back and won 25-20.

In the final set the Bears didn’t let up, finishing the Spartans off 19-25. “We played a hard fought match and stayed with them the whole time. I am so proud of my girls. We have so much potential, and I can’t wait for the games to come,” said Coach Kathleen Nickless.

The season opener brought TJ’s first Pack the House Night of the year. The stands were full of supportive fans cheering on their fellow Spartans. CET Sports was also in attendance, recording the game. Varsity starter Jessica Jackson said, “The volleyball team worked extremely hard and we played to our full potential. The fans were really supportive and gave us the energy to push through and come back even when we were down. It was an absolute blast having them there cheering for us.”
