Assistant Principal Mike Christoff explains his new role as Principal Resident.
Dear Thomas Jefferson Community,
Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year! I am excited to announce that I will be transitioning into a new position at Thomas Jefferson High School. As many of you know, for the past five years I’ve been your “favorite” assistant principal. For the 2015-2016 school year I will now be your “favorite” Principal Resident!
What does a being a Principal Resident mean? Ms. Morris-Sherer will still be the principal of TJ, however this year I will be working more closely with her and challenging myself to take on responsibilities in other areas of the school. Part of my learning will be that for a two-week period during the start of the second semester, I will be the acting principal. During that time I will be in consultation with Ms. Morris-Sherer, however I will be the one running the show! Also due to requirements of the program, there will be times throughout the year during which I will be pulled away from the building for meetings that will help continue my growth as a leader.
Something that will not change is that I will still be here for all of the students and teachers and parents. I will continue to support our drive to make TJ the school in Colorado for concurrent enrollment classes that will propel our students into the future.
I love this place and I look forward to working with you for another year!
Michael J. Christoff
