Spartans surge with offensive power.

The Lady Spartans played their first game since spring break on Thursday night and were able to pull out a win against North, 5-1.
There was some worry that the long break might get to the Spartans, but those thoughts were quickly put to rest as the ladies scored 2 goals in the first 20 minutes of the game. The defense was strong all around and made the game easier for the offense as they controlled the ball inside the Viking zone for the majority of the game. Towards the end of the first half, junior midfielder Robin Emerson made her second goal of the game and put the Spartans up 3-0 at the half.
The second half proved to be just as successful for the girls, as they were able to strike two more times. Their defense was spot on, and held the Vikings to only one goal out of many attempts. Freshman goalie Rachael Newman had a great performance in her first game with the varsity team. Hopefully this is the first step in the right direction for the Spartans.
The Spartans next game is against East at home at 4:15 on Tuesday, April 15th.
