This year’s girls’ volleyball team has made the school community proud with their improvements and amazing success.

As the girls’ volleyball season came to an end; they were congratulated on their season. The Thomas Jefferson girls’ volleyball team consists of four different teams: Varsity, Junior Varsity, C-Team, and the Freshman team. It was a rocky start at first but the girls kept their head in the game, ending their season with a record of 11-14 and a league record of 6-0 . With their first year head coach Jordan Graham, JV coach Mars Campbell, C-team coaches Angela Walter and Grace Alexander who also coaches the freshman team, the girls’ became a great success when it came to sportsmanship, compassion, and great plays. The athletic director, Anne Rice says that she was “excited to watch their progress under a new head coach.” and that she thinks the program has “progressed in a very positive way.” The Spartan girls have put in so much hard work that was shown in their games. They have made TJ proud with their commitment to their team and their school. The end of the season gave the team time to reflect on just how much effort they put into their practices and games, as well as what they need to work on.

As the season was nearing its end, the girls found themselves in a pickle with their record, but stayed on their journey and engaged in spirited play on the court nonetheless. Junior Dani Prime-Morales, on the JV team, stated “With all the new coaches coming in, there was a lot of development and trying new things.” They have navigated through challenges together, showcasing resilience and teamwork in overcoming every obstacle that came their way, which has strengthened the bond within the team. The varsity team primarily consisted of seniors who have left a great mark on the team, creating a void that will be felt once they graduate at the end of this year. Under the guidance of coaches Graham, Walter, and Alexander, the players have gone throughout the season making improvements in their performance. This season has been a roller coaster for the team, but a good season thanks to the strategic coaching and dedication of both the players and coaches. A testament to their hard work and determination was their impressive success at winning the second position in their final tournament as a part of regionals; they made an achievement that speaks to their progress and growth as a team.

Their achievements on the court will not be forgotten, drawing in supporters who supported the team. Every player was laser-focused on the shared objective of ending as best as they could, a goal they not only set and succeeded the best they could. The group of girls did a great job competing and acknowledging their wins and losses. The team kept their spirits alive and finished the season off being celebratory about the games that they were able to win. The Spartan Edition team congratulated the team on their success, leaving a lasting impression and showing love for the team.
