After a long, well deserved, summer TJ sports are back in action with Coach Stacey Fornstrom and his golf boys leading the pack to tee-off this year’s fall sports.  Coach Fornstrom is optimistic about the golf team’s chances this year and his confidence in the squad is supported by the team’s success thus far.

Golf has already completed two of their tournaments this year and TJ has done exceptionally well.  “The season has been pretty good so far; we’ve come in second in the last couple tournaments and were coming up right behind East,” Coach Fornstrom said.  With a fresh batch of new additions to the team and a good lineup of veterans the head coach will have plenty of players to work with to make this season a good one.

It’s the standout seniors that are demonstrating good leadership qualities that the head coach expects from them.  “Kyle Freeland and Dylan Jennings are our two top scorers; as seniors they have done well for the rest of the team.”  The team’s future is in good hands with leaders like this year’s senior’s setting an example for the JV and freshman teams following behind.  “From Varsity to JV there is a pretty big difference; most of the kids on that team are freshmen and sophomores and some are pretty new to the sport, so were looking forward to working with them more,”  said Fornstrom.  Placing high in recent tournaments is a good sign that it is already shaping up to be a good season.
