The Spartans “Sweet 16” game started off with a lot of intensity early before a packed crowed at Metro State. The Spartans knew that they would have to work very hard to contain the Wizards leading scorer, Craig Von Allman, as he had averaged nearly 20 points per game coming into Friday night. Von Allman finished with 30 points.

The game was all tied up at the end of the first quarter with both teams knotted at 13. The second quarter was loaded with excitement too, as the Spartan and the Wizards started to adjust to the environment. The Spartans trailed by two at halftime, with the score being 29-27.

The third quarter was TJ’s most successful quarter by far, as they began to contain the Wizard offense. They held Windsor to only 12 points. The fourth quarter was much of the same.

At the end of regulation, the two teams were tied at 50 points apiece. The overtime period, however, went in favor of Windsor, as clutch shots and good defense propelled them to a victory.

With this loss comes the end of a tremendous season in which TJ battled through every game and learned a lot about their character. This loss also spells the end of Senior Jiron McMillon’s high school basketball career.
