The Spartans won a crucial game Saturday afternoon, defeating Valor Christian 8-5.
Eager to return to their winning ways, the Spartan boys sent Senior Brennan Henry to the mound in hopes that he could pitch a masterpiece to give the Spartans their third win of the year. Henry did just that, pitching a tremendous game, allowing only two earned runs over five innings, not to mention collecting seven strikeouts. “This was a big win for us. Hopefully this will get us back on the right track, especially as we prepare for our showdown with Ralston on Tuesday,” said Henry.
Offensively, the Spartan attack was led by Senior Chris Needham, Junior Austin Hearne, and Sophomore Evan Walter who all combined to go 7 for 10, with three doubles, one home run, and eight RBI’s. “Today was a good day. I feel like I am beginning to hit my stride,” said Needham.
The Spartans will next be in action on Tuesday, April 13, when they take on rival Ralston Valley. The game will begin at 3:30 and will be at Ralston Valley.
