I am extremely proud to be the Principal of Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver Public Schools. I was born and raised around a very large and loving family in Boardman, Ohio and have lived in Denver since 2001. After graduating from Youngstown State University in 2001 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education I moved to Denver with a friend and classmate who was also an aspiring teacher. We both knew that there was a much bigger world than the one that existed in Boardman, and we wanted to work in an urban school setting to teach at-risk students. I am proud to say that I am embarking on my 16th year in Denver Public Schools!
Prior to being an administrator at TJ I was a math teacher, math coach, DCTA Representative, Ritchie Fellow at the University of Denver, baseball coach, and girls softball coach at Lake Middle School for eight years. In 2009 I had the tremendous opportunity to teach HGT 6th grade math and be an assistant baseball coach at Morey Middle School. Upon completing my Master’s Degree in Education Leadership and Policy Study at the University of Denver in 2010 I was able to procure the position I currently hold as today as an administrator at Thomas Jefferson HS.
My wife Ashley and I live in Denver and have two amazing daughters Jocelyn (4) and Sasha (2) that take up almost all of our free time. It has been one of the greatest experiences of my life to watch our two little daughters grow up and become young princesses and fairies.
I look forward to getting to learn more about you and your family!
